2027 Turkey Trot Grant Program

Eligible tax-exempt charitable organizations located in or serving the Shandon community are invited to apply for the 2027 Turkey Trot Grant Program. Grants of up to $3,000 per applicant are available on a reimbursable basis for projects that provide a measurable benefit to the quality of life in Shandon.

Applicants must submit a completed and signed application, a project description with measurable outcomes and timelines, a proposed budget, the organization’s most recent bank statement, proof of 501(c)(3) status, and current charitable certification from the South Carolina Secretary of State.

Complete applications must be emailed or postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on September 15, 2026. Confirmation of acceptance will be provided within 48 hours, and applicants will be notified of the outcome after the November 9, 2026 Shandon Neighborhood Council meeting.

2025 Turkey Trot Grant Program

Eligible tax-exempt charitable organizations serving the Shandon community are invited to apply for the Turkey Trot Grant, offering up to $3,000 for projects that benefit the neighborhood. To apply, submit a complete application form, including a description of the proposed project, measurable outcomes, a recent bank statement, and proof of 501(c)(3) status. Applications must be received by January 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Confirmation will follow within 48 hours of submission.

Key Neighborhood Improvement Priorities:

• Parks: 23.47% of respondents prioritize improvements to parks.

• Sidewalks: 22.45% want better sidewalks.

• Trees: 21.43% support tree-related projects.

• Streets: 16.33% focus on street improvements.

• General Neighborhood Improvements: 15.31% highlight broader improvements in the area.

• City-related Projects: 13.27% of respondents are interested in city-wide improvements.

• “Better” Theme: 10.20% of respondents mentioned a need for “better” infrastructure and services.

• Shandon Neighborhood: 9.18% of feedback focused on Shandon-specific projects.

Additional Engagement:

• Newsletter Opt-in: 94.23% are interested in receiving neighborhood updates via email.

• Input Sessions: 86.36% are willing to attend public sessions on neighborhood improvements.
